Governor Punjab, Salmaan Taseer has been killed because he spoke for amendment in the blasphemy law. The story started when he met a poor Christian women named Asia who has been convicted by a Pakistani court of blasphemy, receiving a death sentence by hanging. He was highly criticized by many political & so called religious parties leaders, for supporting Asia in this case. In fact he was being threaten by Islamist extremists. Who claim to be GodFather of Pakistan. Shame on us who have empowered them in past seven decades.

Salmaan Taseer's an old picture during press conference, he said, he will take Asia's case to President Asif Zardari.

The suspect Qadri told to police in his statement that, “I killed him because he said blasphemy law a kala qanoon(a black law).”

Salmaan Taseer was on of the famous people in Pakistan who used twitter frequently, he was supporter of freedom of expression.

What I think actually happened is that the Qadri’s mind was being washed, it didn’t take it a month or year, but our minds are being washed since decades by extremisim and this is the result that when one person tries to speak up, he/she will be killed.

Blasphemy law was being created by Zia ul-Haq, to empower the extremists and they have been using it for their purpose freely, so they’ll not tolerate if any Taseer would ask or stand for an amendmend in it. You could be killed.

Few days back when talking to one of my indian friend, I told him that it took me three years to have my family a secular family. But I’m still not sure because our media, mosques, schools, universities and almost all institutes are being impacted by the ideas of extremists and they are on their way to wash as many brains as possible. So it is easy to talk about Pakistan as a secular and peacful state but it is really very difficult to execute it, but this is the only way of survival for us.

This is what exactly happened with Salmaan Taseer and he had to give his life for this. I am not supporter of PPP(Taseer’s political party) but I support for what he stood and he claimed to be firm even if he is the last man. I really salute him for leading by example.

Qadri is not the only person who fired 26 shots on him, but the collective guilt are the people who have been supporting the imposition of blasphemy law blindly and all those parties & politicians who for a PURPOSE & REASON are resitance to any attempts to change this dark legacy of General Ziaul Haq.

Unfortunately, Pakistani media will do it best to cash this hot story, they’ll talk about the security condition. They are showing pictures of assassinated Salmaan Taseer’s body, more videos and pictures will be published as soon as any DOST (friend) sends it to them. More red-alerts and spreading a new wave of depression to already depressed Pakistanis, they have always been doing so.

At the end, for those who are striving for a different and better Pakistan, need to learn that it is not easy to make change, it has always been very difficult to do great things. But please know this is the only way to DO IT! Never Back Down!
